Writing is a great way to release that which needs to be set free.
Since the days of chivalry the pen has been mightier than the sword. We have used words to express our deepest emotions, to explain who and how we are. Writing for therapy works on the premise that all human emotions need to be expressed; otherwise they become trapped in the body. This is evident in a body which has become twisted with guilt. The quality of the breath may have begun to deteriorate, due to the anxiety of the truth slipping out, but still the tendency is to refrain from exposing any signs of weakness. Little do we realise that dormant emotions are waiting to manifest and there is never a good time for this to happen – unless we make one. Creative writing, I find, provides the perfect environment to release that which needs to be set free.
Here is a collection of published work from 2012 to 2014.
